Sherry Diane Valko

St. Cloud- Sherry Diane (née Lewis) Valko passed away suddenly on Monday, April 26th, 2021. Sherry, a resident of St. Cloud for over 30 years, was born in Carbondale, PA. Her dream was to escape winter weather and live in sunny Florida, which she proudly accomplished in 1990. She retired from Walmart Super Center as an exemplary customer service representative and a Floral Department manager after 22 years. Sherry loved traversing Florida’s attractions with her four beloved grandchildren in tow. Some highlights include visiting the Kennedy Space Center, Walt Disney World and SeaWorld. Her grandchildren will fondly remember their Grandma Sherry as an avid reader, a no-nonsense speed walker and a strawberry milkshake lover. She was a fiery woman, who said what she meant and meant what she said. Sherry adored her cats, Chloe and Cassie, and her dogs, Duchess and Sassie. Sherry kept an impressive collection of watermelon keepsakes and was positively fierce in her political beliefs. She loved the TV Guide magazine and subscribed for 6 decades! Sherry will be deeply missed by her daughter, her 4 grandchildren, her many nieces and nephews, and her very dear neighbors and friends. Sherry was the child of the late Margaret L. (née Evans) Lewis and Raymond D. Lewis, both formerly of Carbondale, PA. She was predeceased by her infant sister, Geraldine. In addition to her only child, Stephanie Valko Nolan, Sherry is survived by granddaughter Jorden A. Nolan and her future husband, Michael R. Neilson, grandson Steven J. Nolan, granddaughters Robin D. Nolan and Lauren M. Nolan, all of New Jersey. There will be graveside blessings held at Marcy Cemetery, 933 Foote Avenue, Duryea, PA on June 22, 2021 at 1:00 PM. Sherry was a loyal donor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Humane Society of the United States.
