Walter B. Griffin
February 24, 1935 - December 6, 2018
Walt Griffin, age 83 passed peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones. On December 6 we said “see you soon” to our beloved husband, dad, grandpa, blacksmith and friend. Grandpa Walt was born on 2/24/1935 in Brooklyn, NY. He was the youngest of six. As a young man he served our country in the U.S. Army. He later worked in printing and advertising before pursuing his greatest love of being a farrier and blacksmith. His darling wife, Ginger, was by his side for the last 62 years. She always says that they broke the mold when they made Walter. (We all agree!). He is predeceased by his mom, dad, brothers and sisters. Left here to miss him are his sweet and sassy wife, Ginger, three children: Walter, Gina and Jennifer, their spouses: Lori, Stan and Jeff, his doting grandchildren: Lindsay (Travis), Ben (Arielle), Hillary (Quest), Ben Nichols and his great-grandchildren: Kari, Bennett and Colt and the thousands of horses that he loved and helped. Ride away into the sunset, Grandpa you were a real American Cowboy. We will love you forever! A memorial service will be held at 11 am on December 22 at The United Church of the Nazarene, 1320 S. Chickasaw Trail, Orlando 32825. In lieu of flowers, donations in Walt’s name to The Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools - Tools 4 Seminole Schools would be appreciated.
