January 19, 1936 - March 2, 2018
Robert John Brown January 19th, 1936 – March 2nd, 2018 age 82, was born in Clare, Michigan the eighth child of Ralph and E Marie Brown. Robert married Rosemary Garchow on March 16th, 1957 and settled in Ypsilanti, Michigan where they lived until they moved to Orlando in 1975 with their two children, Jerry and Cynthia. Robert worked for Eastern Airlines as a ramp service lead for 35 years until the airline ended. Robert and Rosemary moved to St. Cloud in 1986 where Robert was a grounds superintendent at St. Cloud High School. Robert aka “Uncle Bob and Pops” and has two grand children, Joshua and Jerrid as well as many “adopted” children as he always opened his door to help those in need as well as his own family. Pops generosity, patience, and selflessness was virtually limitless. To his children, he taught and illustrated the importance of honesty, hard work, ethics, dedication, modesty, and humor. Pops will also be remembered for his unique personality and flair which included a love of nononsense simplicity and authentic country music (he was also known to listen to techno music when he needed to stay awake while giving someone a ride in his car). Pops was really special and it is easy to speak for everyone when it’s stated that he will be missed dearly by all those that were fortunate enough to cross his path. Those that were fortunate enough to be a big part of his life will be positively influenced by Pops for the rest of their lives. Pops was a leukemia survivor in remission at the time of his illness. He caught the flu which developed into pneumonia and was the cause of his death. Pops died at St. Cloud Hospital on Friday evening, March 2nd surrounded by family and his wife of almost 61 years, Rosemary. A memorial service will be held at Fisk Funeral Home in St. Cloud located at 1107 Massachusetts Avenue at 11:00AM.
