June 8, 1949 - September 22, 2020
Mike, 71, born in Chicago, Illinois in 1949. Loving husband & father lost his battle against pancreatic cancer on September 22, 2020. A battle he fought hard & strong for over a year, truly beating his odds. He was a devoted Husband to his wife Janie Mutter Wintczak, they shared 38 years of marriage. He was a amazing father to his only child Jennifer, who he fought very hard for to be able to walk her down the aisle earlier this month. Mike was raised in Des Plaines, Illinois. He was a vietnam vet who served in the army where he was a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division. He was an avid fisherman, and spent many days out on the water, trying to catch some fish. He spent most of his life building golf courses all over Florida and he eventually retired from underground construction. To know Mike was to truly love him, most people say he didn't have a mean bone in his body. Mike was preceded in death by his mother Kathlyn Drenning Wintczak, his father Frank Wintczak, and his brothers Robin & Tim Wintczak. His memory lives on through his wife Janie, his daughter Jennifer (Daniel), his sister Laura, brother Charlie, and many nieces, nephews, cousins & extended family whom loved him dearly. The family will be having a celebration of life for Mike at their family home on October 4th from 2pm until later. Please contact the family for more details, anyone who knew Mike is invited to his celebration.
