Jeffrey Alan Rozen

February 21, 2022

ROZEN, JEFFREY ALAN, AGE 75, passed away peacefully Monday, February 21, 2022. A resident of Kissimmee, FL, Jeffrey celebrated his life also in Tybee Island, GA and spent most of his years in New Haven, CT where he was born and raised. Jeffrey was the son of Dr. David Rozen and Carol Rozen, both from New Haven, both deceased. Jeffrey is survived by his children, Kathryn Giordano of Orlando, FL and Justin Rozen of Woodbridge, CT. Katy and Justin, with their supportive spouses Geoff and Kate, are also in mourning with Jeffrey’s two sisters, Janet Rozen of New Haven, CT, and Robin Rozen of Bala Cynwyd, PA, and Jeffrey’s four beloved grandchildren Sabrina, Audrey, Jack and Ellie. Jeffrey was born June 1, 1946 to Dr. David and Carol Rozen. He graduated from Hillhouse in New Haven and attended NYU and Emerson before completing his law degree with a J.D. from Brooklyn Law. Jeffrey practiced law in New Haven for 30 years and was well-respected among his peers. A career highlight was successfully arguing before the Connecticut Supreme Court to hold resort parks more accountable from what their waiver language states. Jeffrey was an athlete in his younger years, excelling at golf and tennis. As a member of The Woodbridge Country Club, Jeffrey took home many golf trophies and a pro-am tennis championship. His competitiveness spilled into his fandom of the NY Yankees and NY Giants. The 1980-1990’s Giants were his favorite and even had the opportunity to see them play in two Super Bowls. In fact, his love for fun and football afforded him the opportunity to attend over 10 Super Bowls. His love of sports translated to his love of gaming, even asking to be brought to the nearest slot machine during his final days. Jeffrey was an avid reader who particularly enjoyed historical non-fiction as well as the exciting writings of James Patterson novels. His intellectual curiosity and breadth of knowledge allowed for him to be a great conversationalist, about everything and with everyone. Those that knew Jeffrey remember his infectious laugh, his ebullient personality, and his ability to capture the room. In every situation, spending time with him was creating a memory. Those memories shared by many will last well beyond his time. Jeffrey was a devoted father and friend and will be sorely, sadly, and lovingly missed. To join us for a celebration of Jeffrey’s life this weekend, please reach out to Justin at [email protected] with future events coming soon to Orlando and Tybee.
