Janet Marie McLaughlin

May 12, 1939 - January 17, 2022

We mournfully announce that Janet Marie McLaughlin, 82, of Georgia Avenue in Saint Cloud, Florida, passed into the arms of our Lord on Monday, January 17, 2022. Born a twin in Cherry, Illinois, on May 12, 1939, to Floyd and Halena Pantenberg, she grew up and later settled in Triumph, Illinois, where the family owned and operated Pat’s Tap tavern. After high school graduation she married James McLaughlin in 1957 and had three children. The family of five moved to St. Cloud in 1973 where they raised their children and lived a full life until her husband passed away in 1988. Janet met and spent the rest of her years with Floyd “Lee” Rockholt. During their time together they enjoyed traveling with family and friends, going to old car shows and sharing laughs in the company of other members at the VFW. She eventually retired from her career as a hostess for Darden Restaurants after 20 plus years. Jan always lived her best life with her dearly beloved twin, “Rudy”, who was always by her side. Throughout their prime, Jan and Rudy, were Champion bowlers and a dynamic duo. While this is the end of her life on Earth, it is the beginning of an eternal journey. Janet joins her two sisters, Ruth Ann and Marian, and her brother, Wally, in Heaven amongst her parents, husband, and others that have already passed. She is survived by her children: her eldest born Jeff McLaughlin and his wife Mary; Pamela (McLaughlin) and her husband Barry Parker; and youngest son Scott McLaughlin and his wife Patty. There are six grandchildren: Jamie, Carly, Clay, Cole, Sean, and Leah. She had nine great-grandchildren and many loving family members that will always remember and miss her dearly. In lieu of flowers plant a tree on her behalf. Also the celebration of life will be us contacting people and inviting. A celebration of life will be held in her honor in the future.
