Glenn Strickland

Glenn Strickland, age 75, passed away on February 1, 2020. Glenn was born in Deland, Florida to Hiram Edger and Maggie Mae Strickland. The youngest of 7 children, he is the last to have joined the lord. He met his wife of 52 years, Marilyn Johnson, the red head at the bowling alley and fell in love. They raised their family in Florida, primarily in Osceola County. Working for Hammock Bros Roofing for 35 years he provided for his family by going from roofer to supervisor in his career. He enjoyed time with his family through camping at Debary Hill and fishing from one end of Florida to the other. Belonging to Dixie Pullers Association, racing trucks was a big hobby of the whole family. Dirt Biking kept us in the dirt and hills of Florida. He loved working in his garden and raising stag horn ferns and roses. He was able to successfully grow roses from his mothers rose bush, that his sister Pie originally owned, and there are still plants from that bush alive and with the family today. Glenn is survived by his Son, Jim Farrell and wife Hope,his daughter Carol Bauman and husband Daniel. He is preceeded in death by his son, Hiram Strickland, and his 7 siblings; Foy, Helen, Ruth, Clemmie, Betty, and Idamae. He was loved by many and cherished by his 9 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Glenns life will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Fisk Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to your favorite charity, in honor of Glenn.
