Deborah Ann Thomas Harlan, 66, of Saint Cloud, FL, wife of Keith Harlan, passed away on Sept. 12 due to an unexpected stroke. Daughter of late Edgar and Gladys Thomas. Debbie attended Weaver H.S. in Hartford CT. Debbie was employed by the Hartford Courant and then by the Hartford Police Dept. as a police officer in the Detention Division for 21 years, retiring in 2004. Debbie had a reputation at the police department for finding the true identity of anyone lying about their name when arrested. She was also known for her hard work and dedication to her profession. Debbie and her husband Keith of 31 years lived in East Windsor, CT and moved to FL in 2009. Debbie left behind brothers, Gary Thomas (Brenda), Robert Thomas (Crystal), & Keith Thomas. Sisters, Lynn Lewis (Tim), Natalea Sullivan, Portia Andrews, Rachel Mayo, & predeceased by Gladiola (Tootsie) Stringer. Many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was especially fond of her Uncle Charlie Thomas (Obeta) and Aunt Patricia Taylor. She was very close with nieces Cheryl Stringer and Ronya Lollar (Vashawn). Debbie is survived by her mother-in-law Ruth McCarthy, stepchildren Keith Harlan II (Beth), Krista Bertrand (Brennan), grandchildren, Dalton, Kevin, Dennis, Eva, & Kayla, & great grandson Colt. Also her beloved dog Jett. Viewing is on Sept. 21st from 10am to 12pm at Fisk Funeral Home, 1107 Massachusetts Ave. St Cloud, FL. Burial service to follow at 12:30pm in Mount Peace Cemetery, 755 E. 10th St. St. Cloud, FL 34769.
