Robert T. Denning

Robert Thomas Denning was born in Kansas City, Missouri on April 22nd 1958, to Barbara Johnston and Robert John Denning. At a very early age his parents separated and he was raised solely by his mother without involvement from his father. He was raised in Casper, Wyoming where, at the age of 19, he met the love of his life, Doni McKenzie, while they were both attending Natrona High School. After high school Robert moved to Arizona with Doni and her parents. While living in Arizona, Robert and Doni were involved in a major motorcycle accident where they almost lost their lives. About a year later they left Arizona and moved to Washington State as Doni’s father took a new job opportunity there. In Washington they had their first son together, Jason Robert Denning. While residing in Washington they lost their home in a fire and later relocated to Auburn, Alabama where Robert’s mother had moved to. In Alabama they committed their lives to one another in holy matrimony on December 7th, 1981. About 6 years later Joseph Thomas Denning was born to the couple on February 8th, 1987. They lived in Alabama for about 10 years, enjoying the farm life, and supporting their Auburn Tigers, War Eagle! Robert and his family then moved to Lead-Deadwood, South Dakota in order to be closer to other family and friends. In South Dakota, Robert and Doni had their third and final child, Jacob Michael Denning. As their children grew older they left behind South Dakota and moved to Florida with the hope of providing more career prospects for their children. In Florida Robert remained and lived out the last of his days with his family; passing away at the age of 58. Robert thoroughly enjoyed time with his wife, three sons and his grandchildren. He enjoyed taking care of animals, gardening, working with his hands, and helping out others in need. He achieved a number of awards from the NRA for marksmanship. He held various occupations, but will be best known as a master carpenter, as he could build, remodel, or fix, virtually anything. He also served as a Foreman on large construction projects like the Gaylord Palms and Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Robert was born Catholic but later in his life converted to Christianity. He made one final and formal confession of Christ as his Lord and Savior, in the presence of his family, on January 26th, 2017. Robert will be best remembered as a hard worker, a great dad, a loyal husband, a loving grandfather, and a good friend. He is survived by his wife: Doni, his three sons: Jason, Joseph, and Jacob, his three grand children: Jeremiah, Cheyenne, and Simi, his two daughters in law: Michelle and Mari, and his cousin: Gary Shaw. Though his body has perished, his soul lives eternally in Heaven. Until we see the glow of Robert’s face again, may he rest in peace.
