Raymond F. DaSilva

Raymond Francis DaSilva, 83, passed away on May 2nd, 2011 in St. Cloud, FL. He was a resident of Jensen Beach, FL. and Torch Lake, MI. He was a Loving Father, Husband, Family mentor and Friend to all. Respectfully known by his grandchildren as "Shug". Raymond was born on December 7, 1927 in Detroit, MI. to the late Francis August DaSilva and Carmela Rose DaSilva. Raymond is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Ann DaSilva (Married July 10, 1971 Southfield, MI) ; Siblings: Richard DaSilva (deceased), Cathryn Currie (husband Bill deceased), Manuel DaSilva (wife Pat); Children: Raymond A. DaSilva, Dennis J. DaSilva (wife Donna), Thomas G. DaSilva (wife Lisa), Keith Fetzner (wife Jonna), Donna Simms Chandler (husband Ed) Grandchildren: Jay Richards, Sara DaSilva, Deanna DaSilva, Aaron DaSilva, Rebecca DaSilva, Lindsay DaSilva, Emily Fetzner, Lexie Fetzner, Lauren Fetzner, and Tyler Fetzner and one Great Grandchild: Jonathan Ritz-Richards. Raymond was a graduate of Highland Park High School (1946), Highland Park, MI, Raymond pursued his interest in the printing industry and founded DaSilva Printing Inc. His successful salesmanship and passion for quality resulted in life-long customer relationships. He enjoyed family, family time at the lake-house, raising horses, outdoors (including raking the woods and chainsaw sports), bocce, horseshoes, dancing, and music. His favorite singers included Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Steven Tyrell. Raymond lived for family and was a caring and compassionate man. He never met a stranger. His warm ways and charming smile was extremely contagious. He served in the U.S Army as a Sergeant from October 27, 1950 - July 30, 1952, in Korea. Raymond lost a long and courageous battle with cancer and was surrounded by his wife, family members and many loving care givers.
