Paul Lee Waycaster Jr

Paul Lee Waycaster, Jr., lovingly called 'PJ' by his family and respectfully called 'Coach Paul' by community members, passed away on August 17, 2014 in St. Cloud, Florida. Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Paul Lee, Sr., and Katie Ann (née Wensil) Waycaster; his wife, Marianne Keogh Waycaster; and his daughter, Marcia Marie Waycaster. He is survived by and leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his; two stepdaughters, Christine Kearns (son-in-law Colin) and Jamie Haakonssen (son-in-law Eric); two grandsons, Colin James 'CJ' and Brady Michael Kearns; and two sisters, Betty Jo Rex (brother-n-law Harold) and Susie Waycaster-Buchanan. Paul was born on September 3, 1960 in Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina to Paul Lee, Sr. and Katie Ann (Wensil) Waycaster. His childhood was shaped by the love, care and adventure bestowed upon him by his two sisters, Betty Jo Rex and Susie Waycaster-Buchanan. As a young adult, Paul enjoyed playing football, riding his motorcycle and fishing. In 1991, Paul began a 19 year career at Walt Disney World Orlando, Florida. Paul started his career at Disney in the horticulture department and was promoted to Horticulture Specialist. Disney recognised Paul for his management abilities and he made a career change from horticulture to hospitality. Paul spent the remainder of his career at Disney as a Guest Services Manager. Outside of work, Paul selflessly dedicated many years to coaching his daughters and hundreds of young athletes in softball, basketball and football. 'Coach Paul' led many Little League teams and travel softball teams to championships, and saw a great deal of his athletes continue on to play softball in college. His dedication, wisdom and ability to motivate athletes on and off the playing field created a lasting legacy within the local softball community. Paul's family is currently investigating the opportunity to place a memorial plaque in his name at the St. Cloud Little League fields or other appropriate area. Paul was a true Michigan Wolverines football fan and his favorite colors were Blue and Gold. Paul had a life-long loyalty to Michigan football and his sisters will be scattering some of his ashes on the Michigan football field in his honor. Paul's greatest passion in life was his family and the friends he considered family. "Hold your friends and family tight and forget all the differences you have had over the time. From taking them fishing to picking them up from school and watching them play sports or buying them treats - being with his grandsons was his favorite thing to do. Paul's most loyal friend and companion was his beloved dog Riley who has been by dad's side through thick and thin. Paul was an incredible father to Marcia, Christine and Jamie; and his love for them was unwavering. He was their protector, mentor, coach, loyal fan, comforter and chauffeur. Paul gave his daughters everything he could give them, and their happiness and success in life came before his own. Paul never stopped loving his beautiful little daughter, Marcia who passed away at a young age. He called Marcia his angel and kept her spirit alive in his heart every day. The love of Paul's life was his wife, Marianne Waycaster who preceded him in death in 2012. Paul called Marianne his biddy-bride and he knew one day they would eventually be together again. To honor his wishes, Paul's family will scatter his ashes along with Marianne's in the ocean at Cocoa Beach, FL where they first met. Paul's family welcomes all to attend services that will be held at Fisk Funeral Home, 1107 Massachusetts Avenue, St. Cloud, Florida on Saturday September 6, 2014. Paul's family will receive friends from 1-2pm. The memorial service will commence at 2pm, with a Michigan football inspired light reception to follow.
