Nina Edwards

Nina Moorehead Edwards, of St. Cloud Florida passed away on March 13, 2023 in the home of her daughter, Norma. Nina was born on May 1, 1930, in Elmira Township, Gaylord Michigan as daughter to Raymond and Ellen (Olund) Moorehead. She was the seventh of their eight children. She is preceded in death by her seven siblings, her husband, Robert W. Edwards and grandson, Timothy Robert Edwards. She is survived by her four children, Rodney R. Edwards (Miriam), Nita Maureen, Norma Danopulos and Noreen Edwards Jennings. Also, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, many nephews and nieces. As a young girl she attended a one-room schoolhouse in Elmira Michigan and graduated from Gaylord High School. She later completed secretarial school. Nina grew up on a farm working hard with her family. They would go to Grange dances, play and listen to music. Enjoyed ice skating and dancing on ice. At age 12 she was was skipping along downtown and saw a blonde headed boy and said, “I’m going to marry him one day.” Nina married that blonde headed boy, Robert W. Edwards on Dec. 15, 1949 in Flint Michigan. Nina and Bob enjoyed many hours of playing music together. They would at times play for weddings, dances, and for the friends. They ran a family sawmill business together. Married for 60 years. She had a full and fulfilling life. Nina liked to paint pictures, observe the birds and animals. Loved the big cats like tigers and Lions. Enjoyed collecting rocks and stones, dancing, and singing. She gave lessons on the guitar, steel guitar, piano, accordion to many students. Throughout the years she enjoyed having the privilege of playing the piano at the Kingdom Hall and playing her accordion with the orchestra at the assemblies. Some of her hobbies included fishing, putting puzzles together, playing her piano, accordion and enjoying music. Would have wonderful fish fries. 63 years ago she made a dedication to her God, Jehovah. One of her greatest joys was teaching people the Bible. Foremost, she wanted her children to learn and live in Paradise one day. She spent many hours and years sharing the beautiful hope Jehovah promises in his Word the Bible with whomever would listen. She would encourage ones to go to jw.org for more information. From the Bible, Nina would share: One day there will not be any more tears, suffering, sickness, pain and even death will be no more. (Rev. 21:3,4; Isaiah 33:24; Isaiah 25:8) Nina believed and shared the wonderful promise if one should die Jesus said they would come back to life. Yes, because Jehovah gave his Son the power and instructed him, Jesus said when one dies it was like sleeping and the day will come soon when they will hear Jesus voice and be awakened (resurrected) in Paradise right here on earth. (John 11:11;John 5:28,29; Acts 24:15; Job 14:13; Psalm 37:11) What a wonderful day that will be! There will be a Memorial talk given via zoom on Saturday, May 27th, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. East St. Cloud Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses. Keith Tester will be officiating.
