Lara James

Lara Lenore James, born October 22, 1968, finished her race Wednesday, February 12 in Saint Cloud, Florida. Lara took no shortcuts, she was just fast and finished too soon. Her passing ended a long battle with both Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia and Sarcoma. She had glorious victories in that battle giving her cherished and beautiful times with family and friends. Unfortunately the side effects of cancer treatment took their toll. Only one week after completing her third 5k in less than a year with her daughter she contracted an infection that she could not fight. She has overcome death and is now perfect. Lara actively embraced the titles, mom, wife, daughter, sister and aunt. Never deterred by distance, she was also a pen pal and faithful friend to so many across the world. Of her many titles her most cherished was child of God. Her dedication to that title was a hallmark of her life. She used her many talents to glorify Him by serving and encouraging others. She was an artist and writer and to the delight of many, she loved to bake. She never tired of using these gifts to pour out her love on the world. A recent art work, “Poured Glory” dedicated to her mother-in-law Joan and inspired by 2 Timothy 4:6 is a reflection of her life. Lara is survived by her daughter Rosalila, husband Rob and sister Lisa as well as father-in-law Eddie; sister-in-law Traci her husband Sean and their children Lyn, Lydia, Anne and James and sister-in-law Rebekah her husband David and their children Benjamin, Jeremiah, Daniel and Elijah. Lara was the daughter of Jeff and Miriam Jones and the daughter-in-law of Joan who preceded her in death. Thanks to all those she collected as friends as she followed her husband faithfully through 24 years in the Marine Corps. These saints were her warriors and their faithful prayers were a constant source of strength and encouragement. Miracles happened.
