Herman “Andy” Thomas Obituary Herman Joskin Thomas, fondly known as Andy, passed away on March 20, 2025, in St. Cloud, Florida, at the age of 82. Born on June 11, 1942, in Colon, Republic of Panama, Andy was a cherished son of Henry B. Thomas and Hermina Hamilton. His journey through life was marked by dedication, intellect, and a contagious enthusiasm for life. Andy’s educational path began at Rainbow City High School, where he showed early promise. He started his career at Tropical Radio as a cable messenger while pursuing courses at Balboa Junior College in the Canal Zone. Driven by a thirst for knowledge and self-improvement, Andy moved to the United States to attend Morehead State College in Minnesota, where he earned a degree in Business Administration with a focus on marketing. Professionally, Andy's career flourished when he joined Del Monte Foods Company as a Sales Trainee, where he honed his skills and broadened his horizons. Among his many professional sales accomplishments, he was a nationally ranked sales representative at Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical Company and CCP Industries. His charisma, focus, and determination earned him great respect and success throughout his career. Andy was a member of St. Eleanor's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Catholic Organization in Collegeville, Pa. He was an avid entertainer of family and friends, making him famous for his weekend pool-side BBQs. He also took pride in maintaining the manicured appearance of his lawn and inground swimming pool at his home in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, where he resided for over two decades. Andy will surely be remembered for his magnetic personality and attitude of leadership. His greatest pride and joy was to see his two daughters, Tanya and Jessica, go to college and graduate. Andy brought his vibrant personality to Florida, where he spent the last two decades of his life. He was a charismatic presence, always ready to engage in lively discussions and share a hearty laugh. Andy's passion for reading and seeking information was matched by his love for social gatherings, where he enjoyed dancing and connecting with others. His ability to throw and attend memorable parties was a testament to his warm and engaging nature. Though he will be deeply missed, Andy’s legacy of intelligence, humor, and warmth will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. In keeping with his wishes, he was cremated. His family and friends will cherish his memory and celebrate a life well-lived, forever grateful for the moments shared and the lessons learned from such an extraordinary individual. Andy is survived by his spouse Celia Thomas, his daughters Tanya A. Harris (and her spouse Chris) and Jessica M. Lamerique (and her spouse Angel) from former marriage to Andrea V. Thomas. His grandchildren Jagger Caleb Preston and Zemi Farah Anita Lamerique, and Sebastian Blake and Joshua Bernard Harris. He was predeceased by his parents, Henry Thomas and Hermina Hamilton, his sisters Florence and Rosa, and older brother Henry.
