Florence "Flo" Strout

Florence L. Strout, 90, of Saint Cloud, FL, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on October 19, 2019 at Hospice House in Vero Beach, FL. Florence (“Flossie” “Flo”) was born on August 3, 1929 to Gladys (Lasky) and Hubert Blanchard in Claremont, NH. In her retirement, Flossie was very active in the St. Cloud Senior Center where she enjoyed calling bingo. She delivered Meals On Wheels every Thursday until just before her 90th birthday. She enjoyed reading, collecting kewpie dolls, beautiful roses and using Facebook to keep in touch with friends and family. She was a member of The New England Club and The Precious Widows Club. Florence is survived by and will be greatly missed by her daughter, Martha Dezan and her husband Wilbur of Newport, NH, her son David Cushing and his wife Ann of Vero Beach Florida, her son-in-law John Dezan of Unity NH, her sister Anna Brown of Windsor VT. Florence also gained 6 children through her second marriage; Doris Clough of Newport NH, Richard Strout of Schertz Texas, Elaine MacIntyre of Oxford Maine, Carol Strout of Red Lion PA, Merle (Skip) Strout of Summerfield Fl, and Gerald (Jerry) Strout of Surry, NH. There are also grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Florence is predeceased by her first husband Winford Cushing, a son Arthur Cushing, a daughter Sue Dezan her second husband Carroll (Pat) Strout 3 brothers: Richard, Fred, and Paul Blanchard, 4 sisters: Alice Strout, Mary Larmie, Marjorie Riviezzo, and Ruth Adams. The family wishes to thank special friends and neighbors, Ray and Sandy Sturgeon and Rene Couture, as well as the Saint Cloud police department and their program to check on the elderly, who combined to allow Flossie to live at home as long as she did. At Flossie’s request, there will be no calling hours. A service will be held on November 2, 2019 at 2:00 at Saint Cloud Presbyterian Church, 909 10th Street, St. Cloud, FL. Committal services, in Hartland, VT, will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make a memorial gift to the charity of your choice.
