Elmer and Ruth Bihl

Elmer Anthony Bihl and Ruth Frances (Morrison) Bihl, his loving wife, passed away peacefully on March 1st and 2nd respectively at Solaris Healthcare, St. Cloud, Florida. Elmer was born September 2, 1923 in Wheelersburg, Ohio to Andrew Joseph and Elizabeth Ann (Thieken) Bihl and married Ruth on September 25, 1948. Ruth was born on May 10, 1927 in Portsmouth, Ohio to Frank Herman and Mary Elizabeth (Delabar) Morrison. One of 5 children, Elmer was preceded in death by siblings and in-laws William (Elizabeth) Bihl, Christine (Robert) Clark, Raymond (Elizabeth) and (Thelma) Bihl and Edward (Mildred) Bihl. One of eight children, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer and Siblings and in-laws Norma (Joseph) Bauman, Dorothy (Albert) Bihl, Carl (Jane) Morrison, Forest Turner and George Niemer. Sisters and in laws surviving are Catherine Turner, Eleanor (Frank) Niemer, Mary Ann (Dave) Sommer and Patricia Niemer and both are survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In younger years, Elmer was owner/manager of Andrew Bihl Sons' produce farm in his home town of Wheelersburg, Ohio and both were active members of St. Peter's Catholic Church. Elmer also served on several community advisory boards and Ruth was an accomplished cook and seamstress. In 1972 the family relocated to St. Cloud, Florida where Elmer worked as Superintendant of Central Florida Utilities and both were active in several St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church functions. Elmer and Ruth thoroughly enjoyed family gatherings and visits from friends and relatives. Elmer and Ruth leave behind children, Donald (Teresa) Bihl, Joanne (James) Minor, Dolores (Rick) Faulkner, Paul Bihl and Roger Bihl, grandchildren Tony Bihl, Scott Bihl, Jeff (Gwen) Minor, Greg (Michelle) Minor, Christine (Mark) Dudgeon, Erin Faulkner (Nathan Tiefenbrun) and Ericka Faulkner, great-grandchildren Lily Bihl, Jared and Darby Minor, Riley and Reid Minor, Marcy and Bryson Dudgeon and Charlotte Tiefenbrun and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be held at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in St. Cloud, Florida at 11:30 am,Monday, March 6, 2017. The family would like to thank Solaris Healthcare and Cornerstone Hospice for the excellent care they provided Elmer and Ruth.
