Daniel Mark Vaughn

Daniel "Dan" Mark Vaughn, of Saint Cloud, Florida,passed away Friday, September 6th, 2013. He was 48. He was born Oct. 3, 1964, to James and Barbara Napolitan Vaughn in Fort Lauderdale, FL. During high school, Dan survived a horrific dirt bike crash that left him hospitalized for the better part of a year. However, his tenacity and his infectious energy inside him pulled him through. It was the energy that touched the lives of every soul he met and changed his life. A life that truly began when he met the love of his life, Sandra, whom he married on Oct. 2, 1999. His energy even eventually won over the hearts of two stubborn teenage boys. Two boys that he would eventually teach to be men. These teachings derived not from books, the news or political debates. These teachings were the fundamentals of being a good person and looking out for family. "He taught us that you do for family," said Steven Lee, Dan's son. "You do whatever you can to take care of your family." Anyone could see this philosophy in action, seeing Dan take care of his elderly father-in-law without complaint, or those around him that he welcomed as his family, blood relation or not. But, it was especially apparent watching him interact with his two granddaughters: Charlotte and Cameryn. They truly were the apple of his eye and are now left with a void that can never be filled. In addition to the widespread love he showered unconditionally on those around him, Grandpa Dan was the best fixer, his granddaughter Charlotte would say. He truly had a gift of figuring out how to take anything that seemingly was broken, discarded and deemed irreparable, and repair it with ease. Whether it was lawn equipment, car engines or Hello Kitty play houses, Dan fixed it all. But the greatest thing he fixed was all of us. He took the broken pieces inside us, and somehow magically made us all better. Dan is survived by his loving wife Sandra J. (Schilke) Vaughn of Saint Cloud; two sons: Steven D. Lee and his wife Robyn of Kissimmee, FL; and William J. Lee of Saint Cloud; He is also survived by 2 grandchildren: Charlotte and Cameryn Lee; his parents, James and Barbara Vaughn; two brothers: James Vaughn and wife Cindy of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; and Robert Vaughn and wife Trina of Lake City, FL. A Memorial Gathering will be held at Fisk Funeral Home on Saturday, Sept. 21st from 2-4 PM with a funeral service to be held at 3:00pm, with Pastor Bob Wooten officiating.
