Cheryl M Dilullo

Cheryl Maria DiLullo passed peacefully the morning of August 12, 2023 taking her place among the heavens. She is survived by her husband John, four children (John, Cheryl, Joseph and Brian), and grandchildren (Jill, Zackery, Jonathan and Melissa). Cheryl was born in Jersey City New Jersey the winter day of January 1, 1947. That Wednesday heaven had shined a light onto this world giving her to us, and all her gifts that were yet to come. Throughout her long-lived joyous life, she touched the hearts of many, leaving behind an imprint on the souls of those who knew her. Cheryl happily married John J. DiLullo in 1965. They both were born in Jersey City, NJ where they resided during the first part of their marriage. Then in 1984, Cheryl received a great job opportunity and moved to Florida where they continued their life together for fifty-eight years, making countless memories and four beautiful children, all with bold and unique personalities: John, Cheryl, Brian and Joseph whom she loved completely. Cheryl loved her job and worked for the same company in different roles for over 30 years. Her most cherished role was being a union representative, where she was able to work with others guiding them with their careers. Cheryl always had a sense of adventure and a love for life. She had deep love for the ocean, all the mystery and sense of calmness the waves would bring to the shoreline with each passing moment. She truly loved sharing this with her family and is why every family vacation revolved around the beach or ocean. They also frequented the local drive-theater while the kids were growing up. Cheryl loved rock music, which complimented her free spirit adventurous soul. She especially loved Rod Stewart and enjoyed taking her family to various rock concerts. Cheryl enjoyed high energy activities such as taking trips with her Husband to the casino for a date weekend, and was a die-hard New York Yankees fan like her mother before her. Cheryl also loved animals, and in turn they loved her bold spirit. Snowball was one of her special cats in life, that endured so much illness but lived to a long age of 16. Snowball once fell out of a 2nd floor window, landing on a fence and then running back into the house. Cheryl’s daughter ran in to tell her mom we have to take her to the vet and she was replied, “nah she’s fine”, and she was right! Snowball was fine. Over the years Cheryl had an innate connection to her cats, especially Sammi and Mary as of most recent, their bond will live on as she has rejoined with them now. Cheryl loved ceramics at an early age and would surprise her children by having large intricate pieces freshly painted when they got home from school some days. Cheryl was a proud and loving grandmother. She always arranged holiday gatherings to celebrate with those who she loved dearly, and of course making her signature lasagna. She spent each thanksgiving, and Christmas eve with her grandchildren Jill, Zackery, Jonathan, Melissa and her children. Her youngest grandchild was born on Christmas eve making this an extra special gathering. She loved taking her grandchildren shopping and doting on them in any way she possibly could, from steak dinners to black Friday sales she was there for it all. A life worth remembering are those special gifts one brings to the world and uses to help others. To Cheryl’s family, it is the gift of speaking her mind for the purpose of helping others. Her ability to use humor and make you laugh to get thru the most difficult times, and how she stood up and fought for those she loved when necessary are all traits that will live on through those who have been left behind. Through all of Cheryl’s accomplishments her most cherished were her family. She will be deeply missed and honored for everything she has done, for every life she has touched, for every smile she had inspired in others. Prayers and Blessings to Cheryl and her family.
