Annie Rose Moses

Annie Rose Moses was born in Tylertown, MS on November 5, 1932 to the late Sam Washington and Elizabeth Ellzey Washington. She was preceded in death by Four sisters, Edrena, Bernice, Alma and Gloria. She was lovingly called Rose by all who knew her. She leaves to mourn her passing, daughters, Gloria (Elijah) Harden of Kissimmee, Etta (Clenton) Thomas of Orlando, Katherine (Samuel) Brown of Kissimmee, two sons, Samuel Moses of Houma, LA and Frank (Ernestine) Taylor of St. Cloud. She also leaves 4 sisters, Nadean Barnes, Tylertown, MS, Nellie (Johnny) Barnes Of New Orleans, LA , Ora Lee Barnes of Dallas, TX, and Elizabeth Smith of Magnolia, MS. Rose was blessed to see and enjoy seventeen granchildren. Granddaughter, Corrine Lott preceded her in death. Bridget Thomas, Thomas Herring, Jr., Anthony Thomas, Elgin Thomas, Haywood Herring, Derrick Carter, Sheri Herring, Tisha Williams, Samuel Brown II, Olivia Brown, Analisa Taylor, David Taylor, Samuel Moses Jr., Caleb Moses, Jeremy Moses and Donnell Watson all loved and cherished their grandma. She has thirty great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. She was the matriarch of the Moses family. Rose made a bold move and relocated to Florida from Mississippi over fifty years ago. Her sisters did not allow the different states and many miles to abate their love for her. They were all very close and called her often just to chat. She was a country girl and a hard worker. She worked many years for the Whaley and Partin families. Rose was loved and considered a friend of both families. Hank and Beverly Partin often shared how precious she was to them. Their generosity, love and concern was exemplary. Beverly visited mom every month after her retirement up until the month of her home going. Rose was a pioneer in the community and a member of friendship Missionary Baptist Church for many years. She leaves to mourn her passing nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her but most of all by the family that she nurtured and loved. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday June 29, 2013 at First Baptist Church of St. Cloud beginning at 12:00 PM with Reverend Harold Stallworth officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Peace Cemetery in St. Cloud. The family will receive friends on Friday June 28th from 6-8 PM in the funeral home chapel.
